To facilitate this\, many excellent free and low-cost resources and services are available to support exporting businesses. Importing is also vital to our economy. It supports many jobs and industries\, enhances consumer choice\, saves disposable income\, and is even necessary to produce many products that are exported. Compared to exporting\, however\, government resources to help businesses import are very few. These included positions as an International Trade Executive for the State of Utah\, a business\, corporate development\, and finance executive with several biomedical firms\, and currently as the director of the Salt Lake Region Small Business Development Center. During his career\, he has counseled hundreds of companies on international business\, negotiated\, executed\, and facilitated various collaborations with companies in Asia and Europe\, including a $25 million acquisition\, and established the Global Trade Center for the Utah SBDC Network. Jim currently serves on the Utah District Export Council and is a Certified Global Business Professional of the National Association of Small Business International Trade Executives (NASBITE).
