"Yes, Virginia the Musical
DreamWeaver Musical Theatre, in partnership with Macy?s, Caldwell Fine Arts and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Idaho are excited to present ?Yes, Virginia the Musical?. 100% of the ticket sales for the general public shows will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Idaho to help grant the wishes of children living with life threatening medical conditions. On Sept. 21, 1897, The New York Sun published what was to become the most widely read letter to a newspaper. It was sent by 8-year-old Virginia O?Hanlon, who lived with her parents in Manhattan. Eight-year-old Virginia O?Hanlon has always loved Christmas. Until the day her classmates bring up the age-old question: ?Is there a Santa Claus?? Not sure what to believe, Virginia ventures into the city to find out for herself. Along the way she consults some unusual characters: a scraggly Santa ringing a bell and an excitable librarian with a shelf full of Christmas books. Unable to find the answers she?s looking for, Virginia writes to The New York Sun newspaper. Her letter makes its way to the desk of curmudgeonly editor Frank Church, who has better things to do than respond to a little girl?s questions. But through Virginia?s determination and help from Scraggly Santa, Mr. Church is persuaded to write his answer?an answer that becomes the most famous newspaper editorial of all time. Make sure and write a letter to Santa to drop in the Macy?s mailbox! Macy's will donate $1 to the MAKE A WISH Foundation for all letters to Santa deposited in the MACY'S Mailboxes.
