Mortgage Lending Manager
Position Description
NeighborWorks® Boise (NWB) is a local affordable housing nonprofit that helps Idahoans obtain, maintain, and retain housing. We are seeking a motivated and mission-driven Mortgage Lending Manager to oversee our lending operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mortgage professional looking to grow into a leadership role while making a meaningful impact on underserved communities.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mortgage Lending Manager will oversee NHS Lending operations, including loan origination, compliance, and portfolio growth. This role will work closely with community partners, manage financial resources, and help expand NWB’s affordable lending programs. Reporting to the COO, the manager will help build and lead the lending team while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Duties and Responsibilities
Loan Origination and Program Management
- Originate clients through the loan application process, evaluating financial status, credit, and property
- Improve workflows to enhance efficiency and client experience
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and NWB lending policies
- Leverage Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and NeighborWorks America (NWA) funds to sustain and grow loan programs
- Manage post-closing processes and maintain accurate client documentation
- Build funding sources for NWB’s second mortgage activities through partnerships and grants
- Foster referrals between Lending and other NWB departments
Operations, Compliance and Reporting
- Collaborate on financial planning and budgets
- Oversee audits and ensure compliance with grant guidelines
- Monitor and safeguard loan documents and lending policies
- Manage data collection and reporting for various programs and stakeholders
- Analyze, adjust, and design new processes to improve efficiencies
- Manage licensing renewals for loan officers and NWB
- Oversee loan originations, processed and closed, in compliance with regulations and policy guidelines
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with mortgage loan programs and products, including conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans, as well as compliance regulations and federal lending standards
- Experience managing funds, reporting, and meeting compliance requirements
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in loan origination systems and software (e.g., Encompass LOS, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to analyze, design, and refine operational processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness
- Upholds confidentiality and professionalism
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, not required
Education and Experience
- Active NMLS and Idaho Originator’s License required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years in mortgage lending or related fields
- Leadership experience is a plus but not required (training and mentorship will be provided)
- Experience in mortgage lending, financial services, or affordable housing is preferred
- Experience working with community lending programs is highly valued

Compensation: Annual Salary ranging between $68,000 to $70,000 (Fixed salary position, not commission-based).
